It's March 2020 and HOLY MOLY we have had a crazy year so far, haven't we? I know, like most people, you have a little bit of panic going on inside your head. I wanna give you some tips and tricks to help you during this chaotic time. Are you ready to try a few things? I know that they have helped me :)
1. Act as normal as possible!
Although we are all on quarantine and most out of work, try to stay as "normal" as possible. Get up at your normal time, get dressed and ready like you normally would, live your life right here and now. It will help your subconscious stay sane.
2. Stay away from the negative social media
If you're like me, I get online and my anxiety goes up and my mind goes crazy. If I'm reading or watching too much news I get negative and cant focus on living "normal". I recommend you start only following positivity an only check the news once a day and set a timer for 10 minutes on your phone.
3. Take care of yourself!
Make sure to drink your water, take your vitamins, shower, wash your hands, eat good, Whole Foods, and stay away from sugar. Listen to music to boost your mood. Taking care of yourself keeps you happy!
4. Take advantage of this time to grow!
Podcasts, YouTube videos, Audible books and so much more are convenient and (mostly, except audible) are free to listen to. They help you learn something new or grow in something you already know.
5. Ground yourself!
Go outside and walk around barefoot. Ground yourself while getting some natural Vitamin D. Sunlight and fresh air will boost your mood and keep you healthy! It also fights depression.
6. STAY HOME!
I know, I know, you've already heard this, but SERIOUSLY.....STAY HOME!!!! Keep yourself safe! Craft, blare some music and dance, walk outside around your home, watch the sunrise or sunset, deep clean, de-clutter, read, write, gratitude journal, take a bath, etc. Enjoy your home <3
7. Move your booty!
Remember to move your body at least 30 minutes a day! Dance party, YouTube workout video, Yoga, stretching, walking in your yard, grab 2 cans of food to use for weights, work on your posture, just move! Strengthen your body and help the endorphins flow!
8. Connect with others virtually!
Have an iPhone, FaceTime! Have Facebook, messenger video! Have online access, Zoom or Skype! Video the people you love to brighten their day and yours! Don't talk about the negative, focus on the positive. Swap ideas of things to do at home or the book you're currently loving. Start a book club and check in via video weekly! Make it fun and enjoy others! Remind them that you care!
9. Support local businesses!
We are all worried about money in one way or another, but what you give comes back 10x they say! Make sure you are supporting those small businesses to keep them okay during this time and treating yourself or others to some new goodies! Your single purchase of an item or a gift card can really make a difference. If you just can't financially help a business give them a 5 star google review, share their posts, talk about them with your friends, show support and love by liking and commenting on their pages.
Whether you give physical items, words of encouragement, compliments, love, support, cards in the mail, thinking of you texts, online gift cards, a smile, a virtual hug, or something handmade. Giving helps keep your spirit happy and the person receiving it!
